Your Moneywise Identity is who you are financially;
it’s your financial awareness, your financial personality and
your financial situation combined into one. Learning who you
are financially is a must if you are looking to achieve a life
of Financial Sanity and Financial Independence.
The fact that you are viewing this website indicates that you
acknowledge that you have a problem. However, up to now you
probably have not done much about it or to stop it from
growing. Escalating debt can be a disaster waiting to happen.
If not reversed it can cause emotional problems, marital
problems and it can harm your career, break up your family and
literally ruin your life.
Being in debt, even what you may believe
is hopelessly in debt, is not an insurmountable problem;
you have the power to end it. Of
course, how much time and effort it will take will depend how
bad your problem is and what resources you may have to help
overcome it. But let me assure you that there is an end to it
and it may not be nearly as difficult to achieve as you think.
Before you can begin the process of straightening out your
financial affairs you must fully understand your problem or
just who you are financially. You can do this by taking my
Free Moneywise Identity Quiz and then scoring and
evaluating your answers using the instructions provided. It
will expose your deficiencies and let you know what you will
have to do to start moving your financial life forward in a
positive direction.

Interpreting your scores
This Quiz translates your basic financial characteristics into
a score that will give you a reasonable idea of your Financial
Identity. It’s what you might call a Financial Reality
Check. Some of you may have a good idea where you stand
before going through this exercise but seeing it in black and
white could be a strong wakeup call that will motivate you to
start getting your stuff in order.
|
Note: The scoring technique used is somewhat
subjective because to keep it simple we give equal
weight to each attribute evaluated when some should
probably receive greater weight than others. However, if
you score the quiz fairly (fully reflective of where you
stand with each item), the results will provide a
reasonable indication as to who you are financially. |
Once you have scored each question get the total of each
category and then add the totals of all three categories for a
grand total and then compare your scores to the guide below.
As a guide here is how you should view your scores:
Totals for each category Your Financial Awareness,
Personality
& Situation scores:
0- 8 bad to
poor
9-16 poor to fair
17-24 fair to good
25-30 good to excellent
Total score of all three categories - Your Financial
Identity
0-24 bad to
poor
25-48 poor to fair
49-72 fair to good
73-90 good to excellent
What does it all mean?
Your total score is probably somewhere between 10 (completely
out of control with your finances) and
50 (better but certainly not where it should be). What this
means – plain and simple –is that you have to start taking
some proactive steps to straighten out your financial affairs.
Even if you’re in the 55 to 75 range you still have some
significant shortcomings that you need to deal with. Just
go down the list to see exactly where you are lacking and what
you have to fix.
