“No one has more power to collect

money than the IRS”

IRS problems can be difficult and stressful and usually require specialized knowledge and experience to be resolved successfully. If you know how to work with the IRS you can often convince them to withdraw penalties and even to settle your tax debt.

How You Can Work With The IRS

The Internal Revenue Service is relentless and sometimes even ruthless. They can take your wages, your property and, in some cases your home to collect tax debt. But, if you understand their system and the rules they must follow you can slow them down and force them to deal with you in a reasonable manner. You may even be able to get them to reduce the tax debt you owe. Here are several options you have to work out your IRS problems:

  • You can set up a Payment Plan - The IRS normally accepts payment plans without requiring financial information provided what you owe will be paid off in five years.

  • You can Abate Penalties - The IRS may withdraw or refund penalties if you show them that there was reasonable cause for not complying with their requirements.

  • You may be able to Discharge Income Taxes in Bankruptcy – There is a waiting period and other complicated rules, but it can be done.

  • You may be considered Uncollectible - If you convince the IRS that you can’t pay, they may put your case on hold or even give up trying to collect from you.

  • You may be able to Make A Deal To Pay Less – It is possible to settle Federal Tax Debt through the Offer in Compromise process (OIC).

Note: To be considered for an OIC settlement you must convince the IRS that you’re offering more than they will be able to collect from you. But, they can still turn you down because of prior problems with them or other government agencies.

  • You can Challenge Tax Debt if you believe it’s wrong - If you disagree with what the IRS says you owe you can appeal and even go to court to challenge them.

Tax Debt Can Cause Major Credit Problems

A Federal Tax Lien will be filed by the IRS if you owe more than $10,000.

It will appear on your credit report, reduce your credit score and it can
prevent you from selling your home and other real property.

Here’s How My IRS Consultation Works

IRS problems won’t go away and they get worse if you let them linger. The purpose of my IRS Consultation is to help you quickly deal with and end your IRS problems. To do this:

  • First I will help you understand the problem and its potential consequences.

  • Next, I will help you slow down any pending IRS enforcement action.

  • Then, I will show you the alternatives you have to end this problem.

  • And then, I’ll recommend the best way to go about it and outline a strategy to do it.

Note: This is equivalent to an initial IRS Problem Conference that I have with clients in my office for which I normally charge a minimum of $600.00. On this website the fee is $289.95 and, much less if you order it as part of my End Debt Program.

This is what I will need:

In order to assist you I will need the following documents and information if available:

  • Copies of correspondence you received from the IRS regarding your problems.

  • Your recollection of the years you have not filed tax returns.

  • The amount the IRS claims you owe them and for which years.

  • An explanation of any other IRS problem you are experiencing (liens, levies, garnishments, penalties, etc).

  • Information about your Assets and your Income (this is because most arrangements with the IRS are based on your ability to pay).  If you are also participating in my End Debt Program, Assets and Income information will be available from my End Debt Evaluation Questionnaire.

Note: Necessary information that you don’t have can often be obtained from the IRS.

Confidentiality
Information you provide or that we obtain from the IRS will be kept strictly confidential.  For details see our Privacy Policy.

  1. What your best option is to end this problem as quickly and painlessly as possible.
